Welcome
The Re-Entry Roundtable for Prince George's County will assist formerly incarcerated men require stable employment, the acquisition of new life skills, care of mental and physical health illnesses, to re-connect with family and friends and/or to establish a social network of support.
The Issue

The lack of housing increases the probability of the participation in criminal behavior resulting in arrest and re-incarceration

The commission of additional criminal acts may be related to attempts to survive

Potentially a higher probability of the use of drugs and alcohol as a mechanism to cope with depression and mental illness.
The Solution
For the aforementioned reasons, The Refreshing Brook Campus (The Healing Place) has been established. This program was birthed.
Phase I | Holistic Approach
In Phase I, the to provide a holistic approach to wrap-around services for adult male returning citizens in a stable, peaceful and supportive environment along with a temporary housing opportunity.
Phase II | Young Adults 15-17
Overall, the services for this male population will include life skills, behavioral health, substance abuse counseling, fatherhood classes, family unification and relationship counseling.
Workforce Development
Additionally, the work force development program component will include job readiness to employment opportunities, financial literacy, GED certification and other educational resources. To support the educational track, collaborative partnerships forged with the Prince George’s Community College and Bowie State University, will provide trade apprenticeship and CDL program opportunities.
Through the program’s resource center, the participants will be enrolled in Maryland Health Exchange for medical services. They will all also have direct access to additional medical and health professionals partnering with the program.
ReEntry Services
The Refreshing Brook administration team will coordinate with several of the Health and Humans Services cluster agencies and non-profit organizations of Prince George’s County to participate in providing the wrap-around services at the facility.
